Questions
The things people ask before they send their first invoice.
How do my customers pay?
Through our payment partner's secure checkout. The methods available depend on the invoice currency and where the customer is, and can include card and bank transfer. Your customer does not need an account.
When is an invoice marked as paid?
Only after the payment provider confirms the payment to our servers and we have checked the amount, the currency and the invoice it belongs to. A browser redirect is never treated as proof of payment, because a redirect can be faked, interrupted or replayed.
Can buyers pay from outside the country?
Yes. A checkout priced in dollars is converted at the payment page, so a buyer is shown an amount in their own currency and can pay with a local card. What reaches your balance is recorded in the currency you priced in.
What happens if a payment fails?
Nothing changes. The invoice stays unpaid and the customer can try again on the same link. A failed attempt is not final, and a later attempt on the same checkout can still succeed.
How do I get the money out?
Request a payout to a verified bank account. You see the rate, the fee and the exact amount you will receive before you confirm. Payouts can also be put on a schedule.
Is Avatar Pay a bank?
No. Avatar Pay is not a bank and does not hold deposits. Card and bank payments are processed by our licensed payment partner, and your balance here is a record of funds collected for you rather than a bank deposit.
Can I sell more than invoices?
Yes: digital products, online courses, event tickets and memberships, all through the same checkout and into the same balance. Buyers get access by email as soon as the payment is confirmed.
Can memberships be paid in any currency?
Recurring charges can only be taken on a dollar card, so a membership is priced in dollars. One off purchases are not restricted in the same way.
